The Federal Center for High Medical Technologies in Kaliningrad is one of the leading medical institutions in the Russian Federation in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
The center was built as part of the national project "Health" as the federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery, officially opened in the fall of 2012. In 2015, a new direction of treatment was added - traumatology and orthopedics.

Yuri Schneider is a world-renowned operating cardiac surgeon. For the first time in Russia, he used the radial artery for coronary artery bypass grafting. The first in Russia to perform multiple autoarterial shunting. One of the first Russian cardiac surgeons who began performing multiple coronary artery bypass grafting on a working heart. One of the first in Russia to begin performing combined operations: mitral valve plastic surgery and coronary artery bypass grafting. Developed and put into practice the original mitral valve repair technique. One of the first Russian surgeons performed an operation for aneurysm of the thoracic aorta and aortic arch, thoracoabdominal aneurysms. Introduced the technique of aortic cannulation in the surgical treatment of the thoracic aorta. Developed a unique technique for the treatment of left ventricular aneurysm.
